It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—especially in neighborhoods across America. Every year, cities and neighborhoods deck their halls to the delight of holiday drivers everywhere. 1. Hershey Sweet Lights—Hershey, PA
You’ll find more than 600 animated displays stretching out over two miles of forest trails at this annual holiday spectacle. Plan to spend at least a half hour (if not more!) taking in all of the dazzling, twinkle lights. You’ll even be asked to wear special holospec glasses that transform all of the lights into “snowflakes” so you can watch it snow.
2. Glittering Lights—Las Vegas, NV
The city famous for some of the brightest lights is also home to one of the most extravagant holiday light displays. Located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, visitors can drive through a 2.5-mile course filled with more than 400 festive, animated displays. There is an admission fee, but it covers everyone in your car – so make sure to take the whole family.
3. Fantasy in Lights—Pine Mountain, GA
It’s an annual southern tradition! Located just outside Atlanta at the Callaway Resort & Gardens, this drive-thru extravaganza features more than eight million twinkling lights, stretched out through a dazzling, illuminated forest. They even offer event packages if you’d like to park your car and enjoy a festive overnight stay.
4. Lights at The Brickyard—Indianapolis, IN
The holidays meet the best racing has to offer. Located on the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, this festive scene brings to life dozens of colorful displays made up of more than three million sparkling lights. Visitors can drive their car right through the racing oval and infield, including the front stretch and the world-famous ‘Yard of Bricks’ finish line.
5. Candy Cane Lane—Milwaukee, WI
In 1984, residents in the West Allis neighborhood of Milwaukee wanted to help raise money for a child battling cancer. They worked together to decorate their homes for the holidays and encouraged visitors driving through to make a donation. And with that, a beloved holiday tradition was born. The event now includes more than 300 homes that line Montana and Oklahoma Avenues, and has raised over $2.2 million dollars to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
